Works with Canvas SpeedGrader. One click puts your own comment on every rubric criterion, the student's name on top, and the score. Rubric Auto-Filler puts your own comment on every rubric criterion in Canvas SpeedGrader, with the student's first name at the top of the assignment comments, in one click. Rubric Auto-Filler is an independent tool. Not affiliated with or endorsed by Instructure. HOW IT WORKS 1. Grade one student the way you always do: scores, your comment on each criterion, your standard comment in the Assignment Comments box. Click "Remember this grading". 2. On every student after that, click "Fill rubric". Every criterion gets your remembered comment and a score: the top score, or the score you remembered, from a switch on the panel. The student's first name goes at the top of the assignment comments, above your standard comment. Switch the name off if you would rather not. 3. Change what that student needs, and submit the way you always have. It remembers per assignment, so each new assignment starts with one Remember of its own. Nothing is written to the page until you click Fill. WORKS IN BOTH KINDS OF RUBRIC Scale and Written Feedback (their official names), in the Traditional, Horizontal and Vertical views. It needs the Enhanced Rubrics feature in Canvas; on a school that has not switched yet, the panel finds no rubric and does nothing. WHAT IT GIVES BACK Timings from our own testing: one professor, on assignments of 120 to 170 students. Estimates, and yours will differ. • With a comment tool such as Annotate Pro supplying each comment: about 30 seconds a student, roughly a third of the rubric time. About half an hour to 1½ hours back on one assignment. • Copying comments from a document by hand: about two minutes a student, roughly two-thirds of the rubric time. About 4 to 7 hours back on one assignment. WHAT IT NEVER DOES • Never submits an assessment and never posts a grade. That click is yours. • Writes nothing until you click Fill. • Sends us nothing from your grading. What it remembers stays in your own browser, on your school's site. GOOD TO KNOW • The panel sits at the bottom left of SpeedGrader. Drag it anywhere; fold it away when you do not need it. • If an update stops Fill and we know, a line at the top of the panel says so. • If Fill stops working after an update, click "Copy diagnostic" and email the result to hello@aibypeak.com.
