Forces the YouTube Music player onto the audio-only "Song" tab so it never streams the music video. YouTube Music shows a Song / Video switcher above the player whenever a track has an official music video — and it frequently lands on Video, streaming a video for audio you're only listening to. That's a lot of wasted data on a metered or mobile connection. There's no setting to make Song stick; the mode resets as you move between tracks. This extension watches the switcher and puts you back on Song whenever it isn't already selected. Works automatically, nothing to configure. Click the toolbar icon to pause it when you actually want to watch a video. Shows how many times it has switched you back. Reads the player's own state rather than button labels, so it works in any interface language. No accounts, no tracking, no data leaves your browser. Note: the switcher only exists for tracks that have a video counterpart. Everything else is already audio-only.
