No telemetry. 🦊 WHAT YOU CAN DO • Interactive subtitles - hover any word for readings, definitions, part of speech, difficulty and frequency. • Subtitle overlay - your own .srt, .vtt or .ass, restyled and repositioned. • Subtitle search - Jimaku, OpenSubtitles, SubDL and Kitsunekko, without leaving the video. The first three take a free key of your own, a minute to get. • Precision sync - ±10 ms to ±1000 ms, saved per show. • Study Mode - the current line as a vocabulary session; mark what you know. • Anki mining - word, reading, definition, sentence, screenshot, audio, clip. • Custom dictionaries - Yomitan .zip / .json and plain .tsv wordlists. Your call. 🇯🇵 JAPANESE GETS THE FULL STACK Jitendex, JMdict in eight languages, JMnedict, KANJIDIC with JLPT levels, and JMdict's example-sentence build. Sixteen dictionaries, one click each. Every other language runs on Yomitan-format dictionaries, so you're never stuck with what ships in the box. 🧠 HONEST NOTE It won't learn the language for you. Hovering is recognition; what builds memory is guessing before you look and using the word yourself. Ranks and XP measure activity, not ability. 🔒 PRIVACY Your words, progress and settings stay in your browser. No account, no server, no analytics, nothing that reaches me. Chrome's data disclosure counts text an extension merely reads on your own machine, so the privacy policy spells out what each declared category actually is. Network requests only when a feature needs one: subtitle search, downloading a dictionary, an online dictionary lookup, pronunciation audio, OCR language data, or an AI feature you turned on with your own key. Online lookups and the AI features are off until you switch them on, and the welcome page asks you once. Kitsumi needs broad site access because subtitles get drawn over players it can't know about in advance, including ones inside embedded frames. Want it tighter?
