Save highlighted text from Gmail into organised folders, backed by your Google Drive. Jump back to any snippet instantly. Email Filer is a Gmail sidebar that lets you save important snippets from your emails and organise them into folders — all backed by your own Google Drive. The problem it solves Important information arrives in emails constantly — a client's requirements, a deadline buried in a thread, a reference number you'll need later. Finding it again means scrolling through your inbox or digging through long threads. Email Filer lets you capture it the moment you see it, right where you are. How it works Highlight any text in a Gmail email and press Cmd+/ (Mac) or Ctrl+/ (Windows). The snippet is saved instantly into whichever folder you have open in the sidebar. Click it later and you're taken straight back to the original email, with the text highlighted. Stay organised Create project folders and subfolders directly in the sidebar. Snippets are mirrored as real files and folders in your Google Drive, so they're always backed up and accessible even if you reinstall Chrome or switch devices. Your data stays yours Email Filer uses the drive.file OAuth scope — the most restricted Drive permission available. The extension can only see files it created itself. It never reads your emails automatically, sends any data to external servers, or accesses anything in your Drive beyond its own folder. There are no backend servers. Authentication is handled entirely by Google's own sign-in flow. Who it's for Anyone who uses Gmail to manage projects, clients, research, or legal matters — and needs a fast way to reference email content without hunting through their inbox repeatedly.
