No copying passages someone else wrote. TypeMaster measures your real typing — in chat, in email, in code, in search boxes — and turns it into speed, streaks and medals. ━━━ WHAT IT DOES ━━━ LIVE SPEED A small overlay shows your words per minute, accuracy and word count while you type, then a summary the moment you stop. It reacts to every keystroke. 73 MEDALS ACROSS 20 TIERS Every medal is individually designed — its own silhouette, engraving, rim and ribbon — struck in one of twenty metals from wood and copper up through gold, diamond, obsidian and mythic. The first one takes three words. The last takes five million. DAILY QUESTS Three challenges every day, plus a bonus objective: hit a speed, hold an accuracy, type a run with no backspaces at all. RANKS AND STREAKS Eleven ranks from Rookie to Legend, a day streak that survives as long as you keep typing, and a toolbar badge that counts up as the words land. REAL STATISTICS Daily, weekly, monthly and yearly graphs. A keyboard heatmap showing which keys you actually wear out and which fingers do the work. Per-site speed, so you can see you type faster in your editor than in your inbox. A full session history. SHAREABLE MEDAL CARDS Every medal you earn can be exported as an image, ready to post. ━━━ HOW YOUR NUMBERS ARE WORKED OUT ━━━ WPM — (characters ÷ 5) ÷ minutes of typing. The five-character word is the standard everyone quotes. Typing time — the gaps between your keystrokes, with any pause over two seconds discarded. Thinking time is not typing time. Accuracy — kept characters ÷ attempted. Every character you backspaced counts as one you got wrong. Pasted text never counts. Neither do keyboard shortcuts. ━━━ WHAT IT NEVER TOUCHES ━━━ Password fields are not measured at all — not even keystroke counts. Only a hostname is ever recorded. Never a URL, never a page, never the text you wrote. Word frequency, used for the "most used word" statistic, is skipped entirely on password, card-number, one-time-code, email and phone fields, on anything whose label looks sensitive, and on any field sharing a form with a password. It can be switched off completely. Everything is stored on your own machine. The extension makes no network requests of any kind — there is no server to send anything to. ━━━ MADE TO STAY OUT OF THE WAY ━━━ Focus mode hides the live counter and shows only the summary. You can move the overlay to any corner, block individual sites, tune what counts as a session, choose light or dark, and turn all motion off. Your whole save file exports as JSON, and any part of it can be deleted.
