Office Guard Email DLP scans what you're writing in Gmail, Outlook.com, and Yahoo Mail, and warns you before you send a message that may contain sensitive information — before it's too late to catch it. WHAT IT CATCHES Social Security numbers, credit card numbers, bank routing and account numbers, SWIFT/BIC codes, driver's license and passport numbers, dates of birth, bank names and addresses, and wire transfer instructions — flagged as a top priority, since wire fraud targeting real estate closings and other high-value transactions is one of the most costly and common email-based attacks today. YOUR DATA STAYS ON YOUR DEVICE Every scan happens entirely on your own device. Nothing you type is sent to Office Guard, to any third party, or to any server anywhere. This isn't a policy promise — it's how the extension is built: there is no network request the scanning code could even make. The one exception is a choice you make deliberately. If you click "Encrypt this instead", the extension hands your draft to our encryption page so you don't have to retype it — that transfer happens on your device, and the message is encrypted in your browser before anything is sent. YOU'RE ALWAYS IN CONTROL Every warning includes a clear “Send anyway” option. This extension never permanently blocks an email — it pauses to make sure a sensitive message is intentional, not a mistake, and then respects your decision either way. SET YOUR OWN SENSITIVITY Choose from three levels — Notify only, Balanced (recommended), or Strict — controlling how often you're asked to confirm versus just shown a quiet heads-up. Individually turn off any specific check that doesn't apply to how you use email.
