The birds most striking features are the large patches of vibrant, deep scarlet red visible on the forehead and upper back, creating a fiery contrast with the overwhelming emerald green of its body and broad wings. The flight feathers show bright hints of blue and possibly red, while the undersides of the wings flash yellow during the powerful wingbeats.
