Third and Long The Third and Long (TAL) Interactive Student Edition is designed as a companion piece to T-Time Productions’ Third and Long documentary which uses the unique prism of professional football to explore the history of civil rights and racial progress in this country as well as topics such as leadership, diversity, courage, perseverance, inclusion, teamwork, social activism, and self-empowerment. Using informative and inspiring content, the TAL Interactive Student Edition engages students via numerous creative activities and functions including interactive timelines, photo galleries, articles, infographics, primary source documents, and videos from the Third and Long film. The TAL app assists with the development of critical thinking skills through the use of student responses, discussion prompts and essay questions. Additionally, the app is designed to help enhance students’ vocabulary through the introduction of domain-specific and academic terms in each chapter. Students are able to measure their progress individually via answer keys at the back of the app. Teachers can also evaluate students' responses through the email-to-teacher functionality embedded within the app. The TAL Interactive Student Edition app correlates to the Grade 6 Common Core State Standards. Other grade levels may need to adjust activities accordingly.
