Reddit content filtering with cross-device sync. Filter users, keywords, and subreddits. Features thread cleanup and Chrome sync. RedditShield provides client-side content filtering for Reddit. Define filter lists for users, keywords, subreddits, and domains to customize your browsing experience. FILTERING CAPABILITIES Filter by username to hide posts and comments from specific users. Filter by keyword to hide posts containing specific terms in titles. Filter by subreddit to hide content from entire communities. Filter by domain to hide posts linking to specific websites. Each filter type can be toggled independently. The extension badge displays a real-time count of filtered items on the current page. FILTER MANAGEMENT The popup interface provides separate lists for each filter type. Enter items one per line. Reddit prefixes like "u/" and "r/" are automatically stripped during processing. Cleanup buttons help maintain filter lists. For keywords and subreddits, remove filters that appear on the current page. For users, add all visible users from the current thread to the filter list at once. STORAGE OPTIONS Choose between local storage and Chrome sync storage. Local storage keeps filters on the current device only. Sync storage synchronizes filters across all Chrome installations signed into your Google account. The extension automatically migrates data when switching between storage modes. TECHNICAL DETAILS Filtering operates entirely client-side. No data leaves your browser except through Chrome's built-in sync when that option is enabled. The extension uses MutationObserver to handle dynamically loaded content as you scroll. The badge counter accumulates filtered items as new content loads and resets only on page navigation. Console logging can be enabled for debugging purposes. REDDIT COMPATIBILITY Works with both old.reddit.com and new Reddit designs. The extension detects the site design automatically and applies appropriate filtering selectors. The extension only functions on reddit.com and its subdomains. Opening the popup on non-Reddit sites automatically closes it. OPEN SOURCE The complete source code is available on GitHub.
