Summarize articles and fact-check claims using your xAI API key. Independent project; not affiliated with xAI. Fact Checker is an independent Chrome extension that summarizes web articles and fact-checks claims using the Grok API (xAI). A Grok API key is required. Create one at console.x.ai, then paste it in the extension settings. Your key stays in Chrome local storage on your device and is only sent to xAI’s API when you run an analysis—no middleman server. What it does • Summary — a short one-liner plus 3–5 key bullets from the current page • Truth — extracts claims, searches the web and X via the Grok API, and scores each claim with source links • Selection — highlight text, right-click “Fact check selection,” and verify that passage Privacy-first • You bring your own Grok API key • Calls go directly to api.x.ai • No analytics or tracking beacons built into the extension Open source Code, issues, and contributions: https://github.com/smittix6/fact-checker Independent project Fact Checker is not made by, affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by xAI or X. “Grok” and “xAI” are trademarks of their respective owners; we use those names only to describe the third-party API this extension calls.
