Intercepts social media visits and prompts you to define your intention before proceeding. IntentGuard is a lightweight focus tool that intercepts your social media visits and asks one simple question before you enter: "What's your intention?" Instead of mindlessly opening Instagram, YouTube, or Twitter out of habit, you're prompted to state your purpose. That one moment of friction is enough to make you think — and stay on track. ──────────────────────────────────────── HOW IT WORKS ──────────────────────────────────────── 1. You navigate to a social media site. 2. IntentGuard overlays the page and asks you to type your intention — for example: "Reply to my friend's message" or "Watch one tutorial on React." 3. You enter the site with your goal visible as a small floating widget in the corner. 4. The widget shows your intention, a live timer, and a "Mark Done" button. 5. When you finish your task, click Mark Done. The session is logged and you're prompted to set a new intention if you want to continue. That's it. Simple, friction-based mindfulness — no subscriptions, no accounts, no gimmicks. ──────────────────────────────────────── FEATURES ──────────────────────────────────────── 🎯 INTENTION PROMPT A clean, full-screen overlay appears every time you visit a monitored social media site. Type your goal or select "Just browsing" to proceed. The overlay cannot be bypassed by accident. 📌 PERSISTENT REMINDER WIDGET A minimal floating widget stays on screen throughout your entire session showing your stated intention and a live elapsed timer. It's draggable, so you can position it anywhere on the page. 🔔 ALERT GLOW After a set amount of time, the screen shows a soft red glow to remind you that you're still on the site. Fully customizable — set the interval to 2, 5, 10, or 15 minutes. Toggle it on or off anytime in Settings. 📊 SESSION HISTORY Every completed session is logged with the site name, your intention, the date, and how long you spent. History is grouped into Today and Previous 7 Days so you can see exactly where your time goes. Maximum 100 entries, auto-cleared after 7 days. ⚙️ CUSTOM SITE LIST IntentGuard works on popular social media platforms by default. You can also add any additional website you want to monitor, or remove any of the defaults — all from the Settings tab. 🖥️ MULTI-TAB SUPPORT Each browser tab is tracked independently. The popup shows all active sessions across every open tab simultaneously, with live timers and one-click completion for each. 🌙 DARK UI A polished, modern dark interface that matches the aesthetic of the sites you use every day. The popup, overlay, and widget all follow a consistent dark design language. ──────────────────────────────────────── PRIVACY & SECURITY ──────────────────────────────────────── IntentGuard was built with a strict privacy-first approach. Here is exactly what happens with your data: ✔ ALL DATA STAYS ON YOUR DEVICE Every piece of information IntentGuard stores — your intention text, session history, settings, and monitored domains — is saved exclusively in your browser's local storage. Nothing is ever uploaded to any server. ✔ NO ACCOUNTS REQUIRED IntentGuard requires no sign-up, no login, and no email address. There is no backend, no cloud, and no database associated with this extension. ✔ NO PAGE CONTENT IS READ The extension does not read, parse, or access the content of any webpage you visit. It only checks the domain name of the current tab to determine whether to show the intention prompt. ✔ NO ANALYTICS OR TRACKING There is no analytics SDK, no telemetry, no crash reporter, and no usage tracking of any kind embedded in this extension. We have no idea how you use it — by design. ✔ NO THIRD-PARTY DATA SHARING Your data is never sold, rented, or shared with any third party, advertiser, or data broker — ever. ✔ ONE EXTERNAL REQUEST — FAVICONS ONLY The only network request IntentGuard makes is loading small favicon icons from Google's public favicon API to display site logos in the popup. Only the domain name is sent — nothing else. ✔ FULLY INSPECTABLE IntentGuard's source code can be reviewed at any time by loading the extension in Chrome Developer Mode.
