Bring your Canvas courses, deadlines and study context into HELM with read-only access you control. HELM Canvas brings your Canvas course information into the HELM Windows app so you can organize deadlines and ask questions with relevant study context. Open your school's Canvas site, open HELM Canvas, and choose Agree & connect Canvas. Chrome asks for access to that specific site. The extension reads accessible courses, assignments, announcements, syllabus information and grade inputs. A local dashboard shows the latest saved course scan and deadlines. HELM never submits coursework or changes Canvas records. The extension refreshes permitted Canvas information while Chrome is running. Updates may be delayed when your browser or computer sleeps, your sign-in expires, or Canvas denies access. Saved information is shown separately from successful delivery to the HELM desktop app. Course scans are stored locally in your browser. Approved study context is transferred to HELM on the same Windows computer through Chrome Native Messaging. HELM can also request an accessible Canvas file through your approved browser session. Relevant context may be sent through HELM's service to OpenAI when you index an allowed file or ask a question in HELM. The extension itself does not call an AI service. It does not extract your passwords, cookies or authentication tokens, crawl external learning tools, or sell browsing information. Remove Canvas site access in Chrome's extension settings to stop future updates. Clear saved scans in the extension and retained copies separately in HELM. Requires Chrome 120 or later. The desktop connection requires the HELM Windows app. Hosted answers require eligible HELM account access.HELM Consumer is for US adults aged 18 and older.
