Capture a browser workflow and turn it into an interactive, step-by-step guide you can export, share, or embed. Data use before you install When you choose Start recording, ShowHow captures the visible screenshot pixels at your clicks, the recorded pages' URL and title, click coordinates, and visible labels for the clicked elements. ShowHow uses that data only to create, edit, export, and—if you explicitly choose Publish—host the interactive guide you requested. It does not read values typed into form fields. Drafts and screenshots stay in extension-local browser storage unless you publish; publishing uploads the reviewed guide and screenshots to ShowHow over HTTPS. By installing ShowHow and then choosing Start recording, you affirmatively consent to this user-initiated capture for that purpose. If you connect a ShowHow account, the service also processes your account email/identifier and stores a random browser credential locally to authenticate optional publishing. Published guides collect anonymous view, completion, and step-progress events so authors can measure whether their guides work; no advertising identifier is used. Start a recording from the toolbar, then complete the task normally. ShowHow captures a screenshot at each meaningful click and assembles the result into an editable guide. Change step titles and instructions, reorder or remove steps, preview the experience, and run Privacy review before sharing. Export creates a local download. Published guides are unlisted: anyone with the link can view them, so authors must complete Privacy review and remove anything they are not authorized to share.
