It blocks common ads, trackers, cookie banners, popups, and distracting page elements using Chrome's declarativeNetRequest API plus cosmetic filtering. It includes three protection levels, a per-site trusted list, a per-site banished list, an element picker, custom rules, themes, and a local statistics dashboard. What SimplyAdBlocker does: - Blocks common display ads, banner ads, video ads, tracker scripts, analytics endpoints, and known ad networks. - Hides leftover ad slots and page clutter with cosmetic filtering. - Helps dismiss cookie consent banners on many sites. - Lets you trust sites where blocking causes problems, such as banks, webmail, or work tools. - Lets you banish sites you do not want to visit. - Includes an element picker so you can hide a specific item on a page. - Supports custom filter rules for advanced users. - Provides optional focus packs for YouTube, Facebook, and X/Twitter. - Shows local block statistics so you can see what was blocked. Privacy: SimplyAdBlocker has no accounts, no telemetry, no analytics, and no paid whitelist program. Blocking and statistics happen in your browser. Your trusted sites, banished sites, custom rules, and settings are stored using Chrome extension storage so they can sync through your browser profile if sync is enabled. The extension can optionally fetch EasyPrivacy updates if you enable filter-list auto-update. It also checks a small remote configuration file for emergency compatibility updates and feature killswitches. This remote configuration cannot ship JavaScript, cannot change permissions, and cannot read your browsing history.
