The extension injects the VeWorld API into every website's javascript context, so that DApps can easily read from, connect and interact with the VeChain blockchain. VeWorld also lets the user create and manage their own wallets (mnemonics & Ledger devices), accounts and tokens internally, without external DApps. When a DApp wants to perform a transaction on the VeChain blockchain, it can send the request to the extension. The user can review, and optionally confirm or deny the request. The extension is completely decentralised as the user can connect to any VeChain compatible blockchain node of their choice. There is no backend service, so extension data is encrypted and stored locally using the user's passkey
