Securely chat with AI using your anonymized documents. Chat with ChatGPT, Claude, and Gemini about your documents — without handing them your sensitive data. HideMyDoc anonymizes documents entirely on your device before anything reaches an AI chatbot. Names, organizations, dates, numbers, and custom terms are swapped for placeholders locally in your browser. When the AI responds, HideMyDoc restores the real values on-screen — only you ever see them. HOW IT WORKS 1. Add a document (PDF or text) through the HideMyDoc panel or web app. 2. HideMyDoc detects sensitive terms and replaces them with placeholders — all processing happens locally in the extension. 3. Chat normally on ChatGPT, Claude, or Gemini. The AI only ever sees the anonymized version. 4. AI responses are de-anonymized in place, so everything reads naturally to you. PRIVACY BY ARCHITECTURE • Your original files never leave your device — there is no document-processing server. • Text extraction (including PDFs) runs locally via bundled pdf.js. • The placeholder-to-real-value mapping is stored only in your browser. • The extension blocks accidental drops of the original file into the chat, so the raw document isn't uploaded by mistake. • No analytics, no tracking scripts, no remote code. WHAT WE DO STORE Just your account: email sign-in and an optional onboarding survey (via Supabase). That's the entire server-side footprint. WORKS WITH ChatGPT (chatgpt.com), Claude (claude.ai), and Gemini (gemini.google.com). Note: no automated anonymizer is perfect. Always review what you send.
