Generates unique CSS selectors for elements you click on a webpage. CSS Unique Selector Tool generates a unique CSS selector for any element you click on a webpage. HOW IT WORKS 1. Click the toolbar icon to turn on picking mode. 2. Hover over the page — elements highlight as you move. 3. Click an element. Its unique selector is generated, copied to your clipboard, and shown in an on-page panel. 4. Edit the selector in the panel if you want — a live match counter shows whether your edit still matches exactly one element. 5. Press Esc, or click the toolbar icon again, to turn off picking mode. The popup keeps a local history of your last 25 picked selectors so you can copy any of them again without re-picking. WHO IT'S FOR Anyone who writes CSS/jQuery selectors for testing, scraping, browser automation, userscripts, or debugging — instead of hand-walking the DOM in DevTools to work out a selector that uniquely targets one element. PRIVACY This extension does not collect, store, or transmit any of your browsing data anywhere. Picked selectors and page URLs are kept only in your local browser storage (chrome.storage.local) so your history persists between popup opens, and are never sent off your device.
