Private comments and group conversations beside webpages, stored in your Google Drive. Keep notes and conversations beside the webpages they belong to. CommentLane lets you comment on selected text, images, or other parts of a page. Keep a note private, or choose a group to share ideas, ask questions, and discuss what you’re reading. USE IT YOUR WAY • Save ideas and questions while researching. • Add notes when comparing products or planning a project. • Discuss articles and webpages with a group. • Revisit your notes and their original context from one Library. COMMENTS IN CONTEXT Select something on a page to leave a comment, or add a note about the whole page. Reply to conversations and mark them addressed. Expand, collapse, or hide comments while you read. STORED IN YOUR GOOGLE DRIVE Private notes live in your personal CommentLane Google Doc. Each group has a separate backing document, and access follows that document’s sharing permissions. You can also reply in Google Docs and bring those replies into CommentLane when it syncs. GOOGLE ACCOUNT AND PERMISSIONS A Google account is required to save conversations. CommentLane requests permission to see, edit, create, and delete Google Drive files so it can manage its documents and automatically find groups shared with you. Saved comments and page context are sent directly to Google Drive and Docs. CommentLane does not operate a separate server holding your conversations. You control which websites the extension can access. REQUIREMENTS Desktop Chrome and a Google account. Works on ordinary HTTP and HTTPS webpages. Chrome settings pages and some specialized page content are not supported.
