When you open a property listing, a small badge appears in the corner of the page with the SafeStreets walkability score for that address. Click through for the full analysis: what you can reach on foot, how safe the streets are to cross, transit access, and walking comfort. The score runs from 0 to 10 and is built from four components: • Daily Reach (40%): groceries, healthcare, schools, parks, dining, and shopping within a 15-minute walk. • Street Safety (30%): crossing density, pedestrian separation from traffic, vehicle speeds, and how much of the walking network runs along arterial roads. • Transit (15%): access to public transport. • Comfort (15%): shade, terrain, and walking conditions. Street Safety is the part most walkability ratings leave out. A street can have a coffee shop every hundred meters and still be miserable to cross on foot. The score treats street design as 30% of the answer. Works on Zillow, Redfin, and Realtor.com listing pages, and on any listing site whose pages publish standard property data (schema.org). Addresses in any country can be scored. How it works: the extension reads the address or coordinates already shown on the listing page and fetches the score from safestreets.streetsandcommons.com.
