Readingfeed turns YouTube's wall of thumbnails into a calm list you read top to bottom, and gives it an end. WHAT IT CHANGES • Thumbnails turn grey, so faces, arrows and loud colour stop pulling at you. • The feed becomes a list: title, channel, length and age, in rows you read in one pass. • Shorts are removed: the shelf and the sidebar entry. • The page ends. Nothing loads as you scroll: twenty videos, a button for twenty more, and then you are done. • Four quiet themes: Paper, Sepia, Night and Classic. • Switch the reader off to read comments, and it can turn itself back on 10 minutes later, so you never forget it. SUMMARIES, BEFORE YOU PRESS PLAY Open a video and press Summarize. Nothing plays until you ask. A short summary of what the video covers appears in seconds, with a longer one written alongside it. Summaries are written from the video's own transcript by Chrome's built-in model, on your computer, and each one says how much transcript it read. Summaries need Chrome's on-device model: a desktop computer with roughly 22 GB of free disk space and either 4 GB of video memory or 16 GB of RAM. Readingfeed checks your computer and tells you plainly if it cannot run them. PRICING The reading view is free, forever. Summaries are free for 30 days, starting the first time the reader runs, with no card. After that, Readingfeed Pro is $29 a year and one key works on up to 3 computers. PRIVACY No account, no analytics, no tracking. Video text is summarised on your own computer and never sent to us. The only request that leaves YouTube is licence validation, if you buy a key.
