Search the selected word's definition on Google in your chosen languages. Interface supports multiple languages too. Simple Define lets you look up the definition of a word, or the translation of a sentence, in 68 languages without leaving the page you're reading. How it works: Select a word or sentence on any webpage and two small buttons appear right next to it. Click D and choose one of your enabled languages to see the meaning of the word you selected — or, if you selected a sentence, its translation along with an explanation. Click G to search the selection directly on Google. Prefer the context menu? Just right-click the selection and choose "Simple Define" — it works just like the D button. Key features: - Floating buttons: D lists your enabled languages, G searches the selection on Google. Choose whether the buttons appear above or below the selection, turn G on or off, or hide the buttons entirely and use only the right-click menu — all from the popup. - Sentence translation: select three or more words and Simple Define switches to translation mode, showing the original text and the translation clearly labeled. For short texts of one or two sentences, it also adds a phrase-by-phrase breakdown. - Choose your dictionary languages: pick from 68 languages — from the world's most-spoken ones like English, Spanish, Chinese, Arabic, and Russian to languages such as Dutch, Swedish, Greek, Hebrew, Kazakh, and Romanian — in a searchable checklist inside the extension's popup. - One tidy result window: every search reuses the same window instead of opening new ones. - Multilingual interface: the extension's popup and menus can be displayed in English, Turkish, German, French, Spanish, Italian, Portuguese, Russian, Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Arabic, Swedish, Norwegian, Danish, or Finnish — set it manually, or let it follow your system language automatically. - Lightweight and fast: no unnecessary permissions, no tracking, no ads — just quick lookups. Simple Define is built for anyone learning a new language, reading foreign-language content, or simply wanting to look up unfamiliar words quickly and reliably.
