Preview camera framing and explore the approximate positions of the Sun, Moon, Milky Way core, and bright-star trails for a selected location and time. What you can do • Preview compositions with sensor formats, aspect ratios, and focal length. Use the 14, 24, 70, and 200 mm presets, a slider, or a custom value. • Choose a planned date, time, and UTC offset. See sunrise and sunset, golden- and blue-hour periods, moonrise and moonset, plus the Moon's phase and illuminated percentage. • Optionally overlay daily Sun and Moon paths, the Milky Way core direction, and estimated bright-star trails on the Street View scene. • Save scouting locations, notes, and planning settings in your browser. Back up and restore saved locations with a JSON file. • On a supported Google Maps Street View tab, click the extension's Chrome toolbar icon to export a JPEG planning card of the visible scene. How to use Open a Google Maps Street View panorama and open the planner panel. Set your camera and planned time, then turn on the overlays you need to explore possible compositions. Important limitations The framing and sky overlays are planning estimates, not a guarantee of the final photograph or what will be visible in the sky. Street View imagery and its projection may differ from current on-site conditions. Celestial paths and star trails do not calculate terrain or building obstructions, clouds, atmospheric visibility, or light pollution. Check current conditions before a shoot. Planning calculations, saved locations, and exports are handled locally in your browser. No developer account or API key is required.
