Description
Detects suspicious Unicode in links and text: homoglyphs, invisibles and bidi controls. Unicode Guard helps detect visually misleading Unicode characters in web pages, links, webmail and visible text. It highlights suspicious characters that may be used to imitate legitimate domains, email addresses or links, including homoglyphs, invisible characters, bidirectional controls, unusual dots and suspicious alphabet mixing. The extension works locally in your browser. It does not send page content, browsing history, credentials or personal data to external servers. Unicode Guard is not an antivirus and does not provide complete phishing protection. It is a visual inspection tool designed to help users notice suspicious Unicode-based tricks before trusting a link or text. Main features: -Highlights suspicious Unicode characters in visible text. -Marks links with suspicious domains. -Detects common homoglyphs and alphabet-mixing patterns. -Detects invisible characters and bidi controls. -Shows a local warning page before continuing to suspicious links. -Includes configurable detection options. -Works locally without remote analysis. Unicode Guard is a new extension, so Chrome Enhanced Safe Browsing may temporarily show a trust warning. The extension has been reviewed by Chrome Web Store, works locally, does not use remote code, and does not collect or transmit user data.
