Tired of scrolling through a decade of someone's family history just to find out how much flour goes in the batter? Clean Recipe reduces any recipe page down to what you actually came for: the ingredient list and the numbered steps. Click the extension icon on a recipe page and it instantly rebuilds the page as a clean, readable card — no ads, no autoplay video, no "jump to recipe" link that doesn't work. What it does: - Reads the recipe's own structured data (the same schema.org markup search engines use) so the ingredients and steps it shows are exactly what the site published — nothing paraphrased or guessed. - Lets you scale servings up or down with a live +/- control. Ingredient quantities (including fractions like 1 1/2 cups) recalculate instantly. - Checkbox each ingredient off as you prep. - Save a cleaned recipe for later with one click — saved recipes are listed right in the popup so you can jump back to them. - A "Restore original page" button puts the page back exactly as it was, and "View original" reopens the source in a new tab any time. What it doesn't do: - It doesn't run in the background or on every page you visit — it only reads the page when you click the icon. - It doesn't send anything anywhere. Saved recipes stay on your device in Chrome's local storage. - It doesn't work on pages that don't publish recipe structured data (most major recipe sites and blogs do).
