A beautiful, tailored notepad for your browser. Features advanced math mode, currency conversion, smart checklists, and 14+ themes. A notepad that opens in a keystroke and does more than hold text. Most note-taking extensions give you a blank box. JottNote gives you a blank box that knows what you're writing. Type one word on the first line and the note becomes the tool you need — a checklist, a calculator, a code note, a timer. Everything is stored locally in your browser. There is no account and no sign-in. CODE THAT COLOURS ITSELF Begin a note with "code" and it becomes a syntax-highlighted editor. Fifteen languages are recognised, including JavaScript, Python and Go, and the colours follow whichever theme you have chosen so a snippet never looks pasted in from somewhere else. CHECKLISTS THAT GET OUT OF THE WAY Begin a note with "list" and every line becomes a checkbox. Indent a line to make it a sub-task, and ticking a parent can tick everything underneath it. MADE TO LOOK AT Fourteen themes, each with a light and a dark variant, plus a choice of typefaces and adjustable text size and spacing. Whatever you pick, the code colours adapt to match, and every one is checked for contrast so nothing is ever hard to read. QUICK BY DESIGN Opens with a keyboard shortcut from anywhere. Runs in the toolbar, the side panel, or a full tab, whichever suits the moment. Every action can be rebound. There is find and replace, search across all your notes, and a copy that strips the formatting markers back out so what you paste elsewhere is clean. YOUR NOTES STAY YOURS Notes live in your browser's own storage. JottNote has no server and no account system, so nothing you write is transmitted anywhere. A few optional features do reach out when you use them. Looking up a word, checking the weather, or converting a currency sends only that word, that place, or that currency pair to a public data service. Nothing is attached to you, and it only happens when you use that particular feature. Because your notes live in the browser, removing the extension removes them too. There is a scheduled backup you can switch on in settings if you would like copies kept on disk. FREE AND PAID The free version is a complete notepad. You get notes and checklists, search, the calculator, timers and date tools, sorting and text utilities, the games, the weather and dictionary lookups, the side panel, custom shortcuts, spell check, and six themes. A single one-time purchase adds five things: syntax highlighting for code, the fuller maths workbench with named values and conversions, a workspace for bookmarks, saved tab sets and reusable templates, unlimited notes with scheduled backups, and the complete set of themes and typefaces. It is bought once and kept, including on a new computer. There is no subscription.
