Make WaterlooWorks actually work - with navigation, shortlisting, key info highlights, and more. WaterlooActuallyWorks (WAW) improves the University of Waterloo WaterlooWorks experience by streamlining job browsing, making posting details easier to scan, and adding quick navigation + shortlisting tools that fit the way students actually use the site. Key features - Redesigned job posting view: a cleaner, more readable posting layout with key details surfaced (Duration, Location, Compensation, Deadline) and core sections (Job Summary/Description, Responsibilities, Required Skills). - Keyboard navigation: move through postings with Left/Right (or A/D), shortlist/unshortlist with Up (or W/S), and close with Esc. - Shortlisting that works with WaterlooWorks folders: star indicators in the job list and in the posting view; choose a default shortlist folder from the extension popup (separate handling for Full Cycle vs Employer-Student/Direct). - New-posting visibility: highlights “NEW”/recent postings in the job list so they stand out. - Applications clarity (Full Cycle Applications): adds a quick summary card that counts interview offers, soft rejections, hard rejections, cancelled postings, and “indeterminate” statuses. - Company link helper: click the company name to open the company website (via domain lookup) with a Google search fallback. Permissions & privacy - Runs only on waterlooworks.uwaterloo.ca pages. - Uses Chrome storage to save extension settings (like enabled state and your default shortlist folder). - Uses autocomplete.clearbit.com only to look up a company domain when building the “company website” link (the company name you’re viewing is sent for that lookup).
