Black paper reading mode Reado => Reading Focus Tool Have you ever read the same line twice without realising? Or lost your place halfway through a paragraph and had to start all over again? That used to happen to me all the time. I started using a piece of black paper to cover everything on the page except the line I was reading — and it genuinely helped. So I built Reado to bring that same experience to any webpage. Who is it for? Reado was made for anyone who finds reading on a screen difficult — especially people with dyslexia, ADHD, or anyone who gets overwhelmed by large blocks of text. But honestly, if you've ever lost your place while reading online, Reado is for you. How it works: When you turn on Reado, everything on the page gets dimmed except one reading strip. The strip follows your mouse, and you can lock it in place with a single click. Use the arrow keys to move line by line at your own pace. Features: - Focus strip, dims everything except your current reading line - Click to lock, click anywhere to lock the strip, click again to unlock - Auto height, strip automatically adjusts to match each line of text - Arrow keys, move the strip up or down at your own pace - OpenDyslexic font, specially designed font for dyslexic readers - Reading comfort, Normal, Comfortable, or Extra text spacing - Opacity slider, adjust how dark the overlay is - Strip height slider, make the reading window taller or shorter - Settings saved automatically - Works on any website Keyboard shortcut setup: After installing, go to chrome://extensions/shortcuts and set Alt + Shift + F for Reado. One time setup, takes about 10 seconds. This is just the beginning: Reado is actively being developed and improved.
