Live bilingual subtitles for any tab via Mistral Voxtral realtime ASR + hybrid translation. Bring your own API key, no server. Live Translate turns any tab's audio into real-time bilingual subtitles, shown as a floating overlay right on the page. Watch English videos, follow lectures, or join web meetings — and read along in your language. WHERE IT WORKS Any tab that plays audio: YouTube, online lectures and courses, web meetings (Google Meet, Zoom), Telegram (including calls) and WhatsApp on the web, podcasts, and more. TWO WAYS TO RECOGNIZE SPEECH • Mistral Cloud — realtime, high accuracy, many source languages. Uses your own Mistral API key. • Local (on-device) — free, private, works offline. Runs a speech model right in your browser via WebGPU. English audio. TWO WAYS TO TRANSLATE • Chrome (local) — free, on-device, instant. • Mistral — higher quality on tricky content. Uses your key. Your API key and audio never pass through us. With local recognition and Chrome translation, nothing leaves your device at all. With cloud features, data goes only to Mistral (using your key) or Hugging Face (to download local models). See the privacy policy for details. REQUIREMENTS • A Mistral API key for cloud speech recognition and/or Mistral translation (get one at console.mistral.ai). • The local engine needs a WebGPU-capable desktop browser; English audio. TIP: turn off Chrome's built-in Live Caption (Settings → Accessibility) — it also listens to tab audio and can conflict.
