Explore Amazon and Booktol keyword ideas as you type, compare competition, and see words before and after your phrase. Booktol Niche helps self-publishers and authors evaluate book niches while browsing supported Amazon retail pages. DATA USE AT A GLANCE On supported Amazon pages, Booktol Niche reads publicly visible listing data such as ASIN, rank, category, price, rating, and reviews. Public ASIN/category identifiers and refreshed public rank results may be sent to Booktol's shared cache so users do not repeat the same lookup. These requests omit Amazon cookies, login/session credentials, and the full page URL. Optional Pro sends the current ASIN/search phrase and public listing metrics when you open keyword research. For signed-in Pro users, hovering over or focusing a book’s Keywords button can preload that book’s research to reduce waiting. Details: https://keywords.booktol.com/privacy KEYWORD EXPLORER • History when the field is empty; existing text immediately shows Amazon and Booktol database suggestions, including when returning focus • Four aligned columns in each suggestion area: Full keyword, Competitors, Keyword before and Keyword after; Before and After include your highlighted searched phrase and its surrounding words • Separately enable live lookup: settled typed phrases go to Booktol's indexed public library and Amazon book autocomplete over HTTPS; no typed-prefix history is saved • Clearly labeled editorial Starting ideas if no saved library matches; missing evidence is not invented • Automatic Competitors preview matching Amazon Books result counts next to each phrase; cookie-free checks fill independently and cache on your device for 30 minutes. Pause them in Privacy & data. “+” means Amazon reports “over”; blocked checks never become zero • Separately opt into shared keyword discovery: finalized Booktol searches, submitted Amazon book searches (Books department or explicit book terms), and Booktol idea clicks contribute phrase, marketplace and event type • A random installation permission supports deduplication and deletion; no Booktol identity, email, Amazon cookie or page URL is attached • Server-side raw query events are encrypted and removed by the next daily purge after 400 days; a submitted phrase can appear publicly as a Booktol suggestion after five distinct unexpired version-two or version-three installation permissions support it (not verified unique people). Clicks alone never publish a phrase • New version-three sharing also contributes up to twelve public Amazon autocomplete/related phrases and fresh competitor samples after a submitted book search. Encrypted batches are verified in the background: independently public Amazon phrases can enter the library; arbitrary query echoes cannot. Saved Amazon counts require the server's matching result-header check, show source/check time, expire after thirty minutes and are not monthly volume. Server queues/receipts expire after twenty-four hours; processed/failed payloads are erased earlier. Previous consent does not enable this new collection • After sharing consent, up to 100 minimal finalized payloads can wait as plaintext in Chrome storage for delivery. Upload eligibility expires after twenty-four hours and expired entries are pruned on the next extension wake. Alarms/startup/online triggers resume bounded retries; locally queued does not mean server-saved. Stop sharing clears local pending uploads • Only approved public keyword sources and qualifying shared phrases enter the public token index; no private account, KDP or Ads keyword rows are promoted • Community counts measure opt-in Booktol activity, not Amazon total searches or verified unique people • Stop sharing and delete contributions in the panel; suggestions work without contributing FREE — NO ACCOUNT REQUIRED • Inline badges for Best Sellers Rank, modeled monthly sales, and estimated royalty • Category ranks and estimated sales pace needed to reach #1 • Toolbar summary with competition score, niche temperature, and an Enter / Caution / Avoid research verdict • Search-page snapshot with visible competitors, prices, ratings, reviews, and weak-listing share • Category links open the matching Amazon Best Sellers chart PRO (optional subscription) • Up to 7 relevant keyword ideas per book • Approximate monthly-search estimates with source context; unavailable when evidence is insufficient • Competing-book estimates from Amazon results • Amazon US exact-match suggested bids and ranges when available, using Booktol’s reference advertiser profile • Saved results load first while outstanding lookups finish Pro requires a Booktol account and paid subscription. Sign-in credentials are entered only on extension-owned pages and sent securely to Booktol for authentication; passwords are never stored by the extension. Account tokens are stored locally in Chrome. PRIVACY • No Amazon or KDP cookies, passwords, or session access • No browsing-history collection outside supported Amazon pages • No advertising analytics; no keyword contributions until explicit opt-in • Payment card details are handled by Stripe outside the extension Privacy policy: https://keywords.booktol.com/privacy Sales, royalty, demand, and competition figures are estimates based on public and licensed signals—not Amazon's private sales or search-count data. Results are research aids, not guarantees. Booktol Niche is independent and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Amazon.com, Inc.
