Capture pages and selections, import them into NotebookLM, and manage sources locally. Mervadon is a local-first Chrome extension that connects web reading with your NotebookLM workflow. Save webpage text, selected passages, or supported conversations locally, then choose a notebook to import them into. Use a dedicated Workspace to organize notebooks, sources, and artifacts. What you can do: - Capture from the extension popup, an on-page floating toolbar, or the right-click menu. Keep page titles, URLs, and text in a local inbox to review before importing. - Import selected text as a text source into your chosen NotebookLM notebook, rather than substituting a whole-page URL. Reuse existing operations or receipts for the same content while keeping different selections from the same page distinct. - Browse, search, and organize notebooks and sources. Keep local records, target notebooks, and operation state scoped to the selected NotebookLM account. - Use the browser's existing signed-in NotebookLM session for background notebook listings, source and artifact synchronization, and imports you initiate. Routine actions usually do not require keeping a NotebookLM tab open. - Distinguish locally saved content from remotely submitted, awaiting-confirmation, and ready sources. An unconfirmed import stays pending rather than being presented as complete. - Request artifact generation through NotebookLM, view generation status, and download files confirmed to be available. Save, edit, and export reusable prompt and parameter templates in Settings; reports also offer an interactive learning overview format. - See cached notebook data when reopening the popup, refresh when needed, and get clear loading and error feedback. You choose access: NotebookLM connection and webpage capture use separate site-access choices. Connection requests NotebookLM site access as needed. For capture, allow the current website or explicitly choose access to all ordinary HTTP/HTTPS websites, then change or revoke that choice in Settings. Declining all-site access leaves per-site capture available. Supporting flows may request optional tab or Google account-page access; connecting NotebookLM does not automatically request all-site capture access. Local-first, with explicit remote actions: Captured content, Workspace records, and templates are stored in your browser by default. Content you choose to import is sent to NotebookLM under the selected account. Artifact generation is handled by NotebookLM, not a Mervadon-owned AI service. No Mervadon cloud account or AI Provider API key is required, but you still need a usable NotebookLM account, signed-in session, and appropriate access. The extension does not require manual cookie exports or read browser passwords. NotebookLM session fields needed for connection are used only in an internal temporary session cache and are excluded from business-data exports. To remove local records, open Settings and choose "Clear all local data." This does not delete remote NotebookLM content. Mervadon is for researchers, students, analysts, and anyone who wants to organize reading material for NotebookLM. It is an independent, unofficial project, not affiliated with or endorsed by Google or NotebookLM. NotebookLM availability, account limits, and page-protocol changes may affect features. You may need to sign in again, refresh, or complete an action in NotebookLM itself. The extension does not bypass authentication or service limits and does not guarantee import or generation speed. Support: https://mervadon.com/support Privacy policy: https://mervadon.com/privacy What's new in 0.1.47: - Retry source-list checks only for network errors, timeouts, or temporary service errors, with at most two reads per check. Authentication, permission, and rate-limit errors are not immediately retried, and import writes are not replayed. - Retain the actual failure reason and available HTTP status and RPC identifiers. Previously failed checks known not to have submitted content can be checked again on the next explicit import attempt. - Retain a content-bound import receipt after receiving a remote source ID, before checking readiness. After a failed status read, background interruption, or local save failure, reconcile the original operation first. Uncertain results remain pending: the same selected text is not submitted again or reported as successfully imported before confirmation. What's new in 0.1.48: - The Use current-window tabs helper now only fills ordinary webpage URLs into the batch preview; it does not create sources or start imports until you explicitly click Start capture. - NotebookLM tabs are excluded automatically, reducing accidental self-capture and keeping the preview list focused on source pages. - Added clearer English and Chinese guidance for the preview step and refined the Workspace header and account layout.
