Retro display filters for any video: CRT, Game Boy, Game Boy Color, Virtual Boy, and PS1 shaders rendered in real time with WebGL. Remember watching cartoons on the family TV? The soft glow, the faint lines across the screen, colors that bled just a little? Afterglow brings that feeling back — to anything you watch today. One click and your video plays on a different screen from the past: • CRT — the family tube TV. Warm glow, gentle scanlines, slightly curved glass. Anime and old shows look the way you remember them. • GAME BOY — everything in that unmistakable green, like a rainy afternoon with your handheld. • GAME BOY COLOR — chunky colorful pixels on a screen that never had a backlight. • VIRTUAL BOY — everything in glowing red LEDs. Weird in the best way, just like the real thing. • PS1 — the gritty pixelated look of 90s gaming, checkerboard texture included. HOW IT WORKS Open any video, click the Afterglow TV in your toolbar, and flip through the channels like on an old set. It works right on top of YouTube and most sites. Some players (like certain streaming services) don't allow filters directly on the video — for those, hit CAPTURE MODE and Afterglow opens its own little TV window where your show plays with the filter on. Your keyboard still works: space to pause, arrows to skip, F for fullscreen. YOUR VIDEO STAYS YOURS Everything happens on your computer, inside your browser. Afterglow doesn't record anything, doesn't save anything, and doesn't send anything anywhere. No accounts, no tracking, nothing to configure.
