Each individual possesses a slender, grizzled coat of tan and grey fur, which provides excellent camouflage against the sun-baked earth of their desert habitat. The dark rings around their eyes are a remarkable evolutionary trait, acting like natural sunglasses to reduce the sun’s glare and aid their vision in the bright open plains. One member of the group, a sentinel, often takes a position on a high point to scan the horizon for predators while the others forage or socialize, a shared responsibility that underscores their collective vigilance and tight communal bonds.
