Automatically converts bright, screenshot-like images on X into a comfortable dark appearance. X Screenshot Darkener automatically turns bright screenshots on X into a darker, more comfortable view. It reduces the glare of white backgrounds while keeping text readable - ideal for browsing X in dark mode. A slim bar above each converted image lets you switch between the original and darkened versions without covering the content. Image detection and conversion happen locally in your browser; images are not sent to an external processing service. Detection focuses on images that resemble light-mode screenshots. Some images may not be detected, and transformed colours can differ from the original. The Original control lets you view the unmodified image whenever you need it. Click the extension’s icon in Chrome’s toolbar to access the controls. You can turn automatic darkening on or off, choose Dark conversion or Simple dimming, and adjust the strength. Start with Balanced detection; try Conservative if too many photographs are affected, or Aggressive if some screenshots are being missed. Pin the extension using Chrome’s Extensions menu for easy access.
