A word clock for your new tab — 8×8 and 16×16 letter plates that light the words for the current time. Stanza Clock replaces Chrome’s new tab with a letter matrix that lights the words for the current time — the same idea as a physical word clock on a desk. IT IS QUARTER PAST NINE. THE TIME IS TWENTY THREE MINUTES TO TEN IN THE MORNING. ES IST HALB ZEHN. IL EST DIX HEURES MOINS LE QUART. Eleven letter plates • English 8×8 — three layouts (Home, ATWENTYD, TWFIFTHA), five-minute resolution • English 16×16 — exact minute, or five-minute with a fuller sentence • German, French, Spanish, Italian, Dutch, and Portuguese 16×16 plates Each language counts time the way speakers actually say it. German and Dutch count against the half hour (HALB ZEHN is half past nine). French puts the hour first. Spanish, Italian, and Portuguese agree the article with the hour (ES LA UNA, SON LAS DOS). Look • Hour hue — the colour shifts through the day • Solid colour — pick any colour • Rainbow — hue varies per letter • Warm white • Black & white — with an optional invert for black letters on a light page • Letter separator colour — the unused letters between the words • Brightness, cell backgrounds, and night dimming on a schedule Seconds Pulse, trail, tick, sparkle, and star — the same five effects as the companion ESP desk clock. The 16×16 exact-minute plate can also light a bottom-row seconds bar.
