Inspect and remove supported EXIF, GPS, XMP, IPTC and other image metadata locally before sharing. Clean hidden image metadata before you share a photo, screenshot, or generated image. MetadataRemover.ai processes selected files locally inside the extension: image bytes, filenames, and extracted metadata values are not uploaded. Key features: - Inspect JPEG, PNG, and WebP files using their real container signatures. - Detect supported EXIF, GPS, XMP, IPTC, comments, PNG text, AI workflow data, and Content Credentials (C2PA/JUMBF) containers. - Create a separate cleaned copy without overwriting the original file. - Reopen every output and verify that selected supported metadata is absent. - Process up to 20 images, with a 25 MB per-file and 100 MB per-batch limit. - Download cleaned files individually or as a verified ZIP with a local JSON report. - Use the extension without an account, analytics, Chrome permissions, host permissions, remote code, or file uploads. Important boundaries: The extension removes supported metadata containers. It does not remove visible text, faces, locations shown in pixels, steganography, pixel-level watermarks such as SynthID, or every proprietary metadata format. Detection of a Content Credentials container does not validate its cryptographic signature, certificate, or trust chain. Images that require EXIF orientation normalization may be re-encoded. Always review the visible image before sharing.
