Price to work hours. Hover any price to see the real cost in hours, days and weeks of work. 54 currencies. Time is Money turns any price you see online into the work hours it costs you. Set your salary once, then hover a price on any shopping site and see something like "Costs 2 hrs 15 mins of work." A price listed in another currency is converted to yours first, so a foreign shop still reads in your money and your hours. WHY WORK HOURS INSTEAD OF A NUMBER An hourly wage makes a number concrete. "1,299" is abstract. "Half a day of work" is not, and it is the question you were really asking. The calculation uses what you actually take home rather than a payslip headline, and you can fold in holidays, unpaid overtime and the commute. An honest hourly wage is usually lower than people expect, which is rather the point. HOW IT WORKS 1. Enter your salary, currency and working hours, in the settings or the toolbar popup. 2. Browse as usual. 3. Hover any price to see the hours of work it costs. 54 CURRENCIES, CONVERTED FOR YOU Shopping on a foreign site still works. Amounts are converted with public exchange rates that refresh on their own, and the tooltip shows the original alongside yours. A Danish salary browsing a Czech shop reads correctly without touching a setting. WHAT YOU CAN CONFIGURE • Salary amount, currency, and pay frequency (hourly, monthly or annual) • Net or gross pay, with an optional estimated tax rate • Paid hours per week, holidays, unpaid overtime, and commuting time • Interface language (18 languages) FOUND A SHOP WHERE IT DOES NOT WORK? Every shop writes its prices differently, so some slip through. The toolbar popup has a "Report a site" link. It opens a short form in a new tab with the page address already filled in, and you read it and send it yourself. Nothing is sent from inside the extension. PRIVACY Your salary never leaves your browser. Settings stay in Chrome storage. The only network request fetches public exchange rates and sends nothing about you. No accounts, no analytics, no tracking. PERMISSIONS Access to websites: needed to find prices wherever you shop, because shops cannot be listed in advance. It is used only to detect prices and show the hover tooltip. Active tab: used only at the moment you click the toolbar icon, so that "Report a site" can fill in the address of the page you are on. It gives no access to any other tab. FREE No paid tier, no locked features, no trial. There is an optional "buy me a coffee" link, and nothing changes whether you use it or not.
