Tone-aware coaching for heated Gmail threads. Tells you when to pause and how to reply without burning bridges. BYOK, no server. Like a calm coach in your inbox. Inbox Referee reads your Gmail threads, scores the tone, and tells you three things before you hit reply: • Should you reply at all? (yes / wait / no) • Whose turn is it? (you / them / nobody) • How should you say it? (tone rewrite + calmer reply suggestions) It works in your Gmail side panel. Tap a thread, tap "Analyze", and the verdict appears in under two seconds. Below the verdict: a tone meter, the key points, the ownership, and a few calmer ways to say what you mean. ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ WHY INBOX REFEREE The standard advice — "sleep on it" — doesn't help when the angry reply is already half-written. Inbox Referee reads the thread the way a thoughtful friend would, then shows you the temperature before you send. It was built for the moment you can feel the cursor pulling you toward Send and you wish you had a second opinion. ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ YOUR THREADS NEVER LEAVE GMAIL. YOUR API KEY NEVER LEAVES YOUR BROWSER. This extension is Bring-Your-Own-Key. You paste your own API key from minimax, OpenAI, or Anthropic into the settings panel. That key is stored in chrome.storage.local on your machine, in plain text. It is only ever sent to the LLM provider you chose, and only with the thread you are currently analyzing. There is no Inbox Referee backend. There is no account. There is no telemetry, no analytics, no "we'd like to improve your experience" opt-in. The extension cannot see your email when it's closed. Open the source, read the manifest, see for yourself. If you have ever read a privacy policy that says "we may share your data with trusted partners" and closed the tab, this extension is for you. ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ THREE THINGS IT DOES WELL 1. The Verdict One tap. "Reply now" / "Wait" / "No reply needed." Below it, the reasoning in one short line. If you've ever stared at a thread and asked yourself "is this even worth my time?", the verdict is the answer. 2. Tone Rewrite Highlight a sentence you wrote (or are about to send) and the extension shows you the same meaning, said more calmly. The original is right there. Pick the one that sounds like you. 3.
