Connect supported streaming tabs to an authenticated WatchRoom Social Room. Watch together without moving the video away from its original streaming service. WatchRoom Companion connects a video playing in your browser to an authenticated WatchRoom Social Room. WatchRoom adds synchronized browser playback, participant presence, live chat, reactions, invite sharing, and optional camera and microphone. The streaming service remains responsible for video delivery, login, subscriptions, and content protection. The extension recognizes major streaming services and can work with other sites that expose a standard HTML5 video element. It never downloads, decrypts, captures, proxies, or redistributes media. Eligible authenticated members can start a party from the provider tab. An inactive WatchRoom-origin bridge creates the room through WatchRoom's existing subscription and authentication checks, then a transparent provider overlay supplies camera, microphone, chat, participant presence, and invite sharing over the video page. Key features: - Connect a playing video to an existing Social Room. - Start a new WatchRoom party from a supported provider tab. - Keep host play, pause, seek, and position synchronized. - Chat, react, invite friends, and view participant presence without leaving the video. - Opt into room-scoped camera and microphone when you choose. - Restore the room connection after a provider tab reload. You need a WatchRoom account. Access to paid streaming services is not included and remains subject to each provider's account, subscription, regional, and usage terms.
