Side panel manager for open tabs, bookmarks, and saved sessions. TabKeeper is a Chrome side panel for people who keep too many tabs open. It shows your tabs grouped exactly as Chrome groups them, with a strip for pinned tabs, and gets out of the way otherwise. WHAT IT DOES • Find anything — search titles and hosts, or filter to Stale, Duplicates, Audio, or Loaded tabs. • Close duplicates in one click. It keeps the copy you used most recently and never touches a pinned or active tab. • Sweep stale tabs — tabs you have not touched in days are saved to a session first, then closed, so a sweep is always reversible. • Free memory. The Loaded filter shows which tabs are actually holding memory; unload them in one click and they reload when you return. • Sessions — save a window by name, restore it into a new window with its tab groups rebuilt. Chrome's own recently-closed list is there too, so closed tabs come back with their history. • Tidy up — group loose tabs by website, drag to reorder, pin, and move tabs between groups. • Select several tabs and group, pin, unload, close, or tile them side by side. • Bookmarks — browse, search, add the current tab, delete. • Keyboard: Cmd/Ctrl-K to search, arrows to move, Enter to jump, Delete to close. • Light and dark themes, following your system by default. PRIVACY TabKeeper makes no network requests at all. No servers, no analytics, no telemetry. Everything it stores stays in your browser's local storage. It asks for no host permissions and injects no content scripts, so it cannot read the contents of any page you visit. HONEST LIMITS • The memory figure in the header is an estimate — loaded tab count times a fixed number — because Chrome does not expose real per-tab memory to extensions. Press Shift+Esc for Chrome's own Task Manager for real numbers. Unloading tabs, however, frees real memory. • "Split" opens two tabs as half-screen windows. Chrome provides no API for its native split view, so no extension can create one. • The panel cannot resize or collapse itself — Chrome gives extensions no control over side panel width. Drag it narrow and it switches to a compact icon rail on its own. Requires Chrome 114 or later.
