It has no analytics, advertising, user account, remote code, or developer-operated server. Website content and browsing activity are not transmitted. Settings and anonymous totals stay in Chrome. WHY WEBSITE ACCESS IS NEEDED Cookie banners can appear on any HTTP or HTTPS website. CookieBlock uses this access only to inspect consent-interface labels and controls locally, apply the selected privacy choice, and hide the detected overlay. Storage remembers preferences, paused domains, temporary tab status, and anonymous totals. When the popup is opened, temporary active-tab and scripting access can read only the current hostname if the normal page connection is unavailable, keeping the per-site switch reliable after an extension reload. CookieBlock never clicks “Accept all” as a fallback. If it cannot identify a safe choice, it can keep the detected banner invisible without pretending consent was recorded. LIMITATIONS No consent tool can safely support every interface. Closed components, newly changed banners, and accept-or-pay walls may not be actionable. Chrome prevents extensions from operating on internal pages and the Chrome Web Store.
