YouTube Productivity Dial replaces recommendations on YouTube Home and beside the video player with a custom educational feed controlled by a simple 1–10 productivity dial. - Levels 1–3 favor shorter, approachable explainers and edutainment. - Levels 4–7 favor structured guides, analysis, and documentaries. - Levels 8–10 favor long-form courses, lectures, tutorials, and deep dives. Connect your YouTube account with read-only access and the extension uses your subscribed channels as private interest signals. It combines recent subscription uploads with educational discovery results, then ranks them locally based on your selected depth, topics, freshness, and feedback. You stay in control: - Use More like this and Less like this on extension-generated cards. - Pause Productivity Dial in one tab without affecting other YouTube tabs. - Resume from the on-page strip or toolbar popup. - Reset all local preferences, feedback, and recommendation caches at any time. Privacy by design: - Recommendation processing and preferences remain on your device. - No advertising, analytics, cloud profile, or custom backend. - No likes, subscriptions, comments, uploads, or history edits. - The extension requests only read-only YouTube access. - OAuth tokens remain within Chrome's Identity system and are never exposed to the YouTube page. This extension creates an independent recommendation feed. It does not modify or claim access to YouTube's private recommendation algorithm.
