Translate and dub YouTube videos into Vietnamese. Listen instead of reading subtitles. ListenDub reads a YouTube video's subtitles out loud, in Vietnamese, in time with the picture. On the free tier, normal playback runs in your own browser and does not use a ListenDub server. You watch the screen. You do not read a subtitle line. WHAT IT DOES • Speaks the subtitle track aloud while the video plays, kept in sync with what is on screen. • Dubs the video using the translated subtitle track YouTube's own player already provides. • One button to start, inside YouTube's own control bar. Voice and account settings live in the toolbar popup. • Pick a voice from the catalogue. Free. FREE — NO LIMIT, NO ACCOUNT The free tier is not a trial. There is no daily video cap and no sign-up. YouTube's player supplies the translated subtitles and Microsoft's speech service produces the audio, so ListenDub's own server takes no part in normal free playback. MEMBERSHIP Members get language-model rewrites of subtitle lines whenever a rewrite is ready in time for playback, so those lines sound like a person wrote them rather than machine translation read aloud. WHAT IT DOES NOT DO YET • Output is Vietnamese only. Other target languages are being worked on. • On the free tier, a video with no subtitle track cannot be dubbed. ListenDub tells you when that happens instead of failing silently. Members get speech recognition for those videos, on by default, and it can be turned off in the popup. • Live streams are not handled. PRIVACY On the free tier, YouTube's own player fetches the translated subtitle track. ListenDub sends subtitle text and your chosen voice to Microsoft's speech service to be turned into audio; those requests carry no account and no video address. ListenDub never uploads the video file or the page's HTML. For members only, a video with no subtitle track sends short audio segments to ListenDub's server for speech recognition.
