Find out how different news outlets report about the same event. Requires access to Google News stories. This plugin acts as the frontend for the IndiaMediaLens Project: A Media Monitoring Dashboard for India. It is supported by the Mphasis AI & Applied Tech Lab at Ashoka and now, the Vachani School of Advanced Computing. IndiaMediaLens is an interactive system for monitoring the political reporting preferences of Indian digital news sources on Google News. Rather than assigning a single label of political bias, the system analyzes article-level tone toward establishment and opposition political entities, providing both longitudinal analysis of election coverage and real-time analysis of current news coverage. IndiaMediaLens combines political entity recognition, affiliation mapping, and targeted sentiment analysis with interactive visualizations to expose reporting patterns and their underlying textual evidence.
