Save any image as PNG, JPG, or WebP. Open source, no telemetry, no affiliate links. Audit the code on GitHub. Open Image Saver adds one thing to Chrome: a right-click menu that saves any image on any page as PNG, JPG, or WebP. Right-click an image, choose "Save image as", pick a format, and it downloads. That is the whole extension. WHY THIS EXISTS A popular image-format-saving extension was removed from the Chrome Web Store in 2026 after it changed hands and was updated to inject affiliate-fraud code into its users' browsers. Open Image Saver is a clean-room rebuild for the people left without a working tool — built, from the start, so that this cannot happen quietly again. BUILT FOR TRUST - 100% open source. The complete code is on GitHub. Read every line. - No telemetry. No analytics. No error reporting. Nothing phones home. - No affiliate links, no coupon overlays, no "premium" upsell. Ever. - No account, no cloud, no sign-in. - Reproducible builds: every release publishes a SHA-256 you can regenerate from the source yourself, so a published version provably matches the code. - A public, written commitment that this project will never be sold — selling is exactly how the previous extension was compromised. WHAT IT DOES - Save images as PNG, JPG, or WebP - Works on same-origin and cross-origin images - Adjustable JPG / WebP quality (60% / 80% / 100%) - Optional "ask where to save" prompt - Fast: conversion happens locally, inside your browser PRIVACY The extension reads only the specific image you right-click. No data is ever sent to the developer or any third party — there is no server. Your settings are stored locally on your device. Full privacy policy is linked below.
