Tabonomy is a local-first automatic tab organizer for Chrome. It sorts open tabs into clear category groups, gives you a calm place to continue work, and keeps closed tabs in a searchable Archive—without an account or a Tabonomy server. AUTOMATIC TAB GROUPING • Sort open tabs into 35 familiar categories as you browse. • Use native Chrome tab groups you can rename, recolor, or undo. • Keep groups you made yourself. • Run grouping on your device after a one-time model download. SEARCH CLOSED TABS • Search recent closed tabs recorded in your private local Archive. • Search open and closed tabs from one place. • Keyword search works immediately; search by meaning improves as the local Archive index catches up. • Reopen an archived page or switch to one that is already open. CONTINUE WITHOUT THE CLUTTER • Mark the few tabs you are actively Working on. • See useful pages to continue, including stored video progress where available. • Review cleanup suggestions before anything closes, then undo if you change your mind. VIDEO TRANSCRIPT TO OBSIDIAN • Export available YouTube or Bilibili captions as Markdown for Obsidian. • Transcripts are fetched only after you ask; Tabonomy does not harvest them in the background. PRIVATE BY DESIGN • No Tabonomy account, cloud Archive, browsing-history permission, or cookies permission. • No browsing data, Archive data, or video progress is sent to Tabonomy. • Interface fonts are bundled and site icons come from Chrome's local favicon cache. Good to know: first run downloads about 200 MB from Hugging Face for on-device grouping. Your Archive stays in this Chrome profile and does not sync to another device.
