CHOOSE WHAT NEEDS HELP • Clear Voice reduces low rumble, gently favors centered speech, and lifts useful voice frequencies. • Night Mode compresses disruptive jumps with conservative peak protection. • Auto Level follows uneven programs slowly, pauses below its noise gate, and stays inside your selected boost limit. • Custom gives you five bounded controls without a crowded studio interface. COMPARE THE RESULT Use instant bypass to hear the original tab audio without tearing down the session. Live input/output meters and a clear toolbar badge show when processing is active. Stop at any time to restore normal tab audio. PRIVATE BY DESIGN Audio processing happens locally in packaged extension code. Dialogue Guard does not record or upload sound, use a microphone or camera, run analytics, show ads, inject affiliate links, or require an account. The extension has no host permissions and no content scripts. Website preferences use only a normalized hostname, such as example.com, and stay in Chrome storage on your device. Full page addresses, paths, searches, titles, page contents, and media metadata are not saved. PURPOSEFULLY BOUNDED Boost and output controls are capped, Auto Level moves slowly to reduce pumping, and a soft −1 dBFS output ceiling protects the extension’s digital signal path from overs. Results still depend on the source mix, speakers or headphones, system volume, and listening environment. Dialogue Guard uses deterministic equalization and dynamics. It cannot isolate independent voice, music, and effects stems, and it is not a medical device or hearing-protection system. Chrome-protected pages and other extension pages cannot be captured; DRM, fullscreen, embedded player, and site behavior can vary. Minimum browser version: Chrome 116.
