Download or send transcripts from YouTube and Rumble, and create/play transcript-based YouTube highlights. Video Transcript Tools gives you user-controlled transcript tools directly on supported YouTube and Rumble video pages. CORE FEATURES - Download available captions as clean .txt transcript files. - Include or omit timestamps and a metadata header. - Choose a preferred caption language when multiple tracks are available. - Optionally attach a transcript to a ChatGPT conversation that you select. - Create, import, organize, and play transcript-based YouTube highlight sets. - Export privacy-redacted diagnostics locally when troubleshooting. BROWSER-NATIVE BY DEFAULT Normal single-video YouTube and Rumble transcript downloads run in the extension and do not require a desktop helper. Transcript availability depends on captions exposed by the source platform. OPTIONAL CHATGPT INTEGRATION ChatGPT access is requested only after you enable it in Settings. When you choose Send transcript or Create highlights, the extension attaches the requested transcript to your selected conversation. It leaves the composer blank and never sends the message automatically. OPTIONAL DESKTOP COMPANION Advanced features such as playlist or batch exporting can use a separately installed desktop companion. The companion and its additional permissions are not required for ordinary single-video downloads. PRIVACY There is no developer analytics, advertising telemetry, or automatic diagnostic upload. Transcript content is sent only to the destination you explicitly choose. Diagnostic exports remain local and redact sensitive identifiers by default.
