Pick a saved sound and 'record' it as a fake mic input into Instagram DMs (or any site using getUserMedia). Voice Message Soundboard lets you record a voice message using a saved sound instead of your real microphone. HOW IT WORKS When a page asks to use your microphone, the extension supplies a stream built from an audio file you have installed, so whatever is recording captures that sound. The audio is decoded and played inside your own browser tab — nothing is uploaded, and no server is involved. WHAT YOU CAN DO Browse a library of hundreds of sounds and install the ones you want. Each one downloads once and is saved locally, so it keeps working offline afterwards. Search the library by name and arm the sound you want. Open the site, start recording, and your armed sound is what gets recorded. It plays at real speed — a 3-second clip takes 3 seconds to record — then the stream ends. Remove any sound whenever you like. YOUR DATA STAYS LOCAL Installed sounds are stored in your browser's own IndexedDB. They are never uploaded, synced, or shared. The extension does not read your messages, your contacts, or your account credentials, and it does not use cookies. The only network requests it makes are to download the public sound list and the individual audio files you choose to install. No analytics, no tracking, no sign-in. USE YOUR OWN SOUNDS The sound list is read from a public repository's index file. To use your own collection instead, host an index.json alongside your audio files and point the extension at it. GOOD TO KNOW This is a novelty and prank tool, and a way to test how a page behaves when it is fed known audio instead of a live microphone. Please be considerate of the person on the other end — what they receive looks like an ordinary voice message. The default sound library is a third-party collection and may include crude or profane clips. You choose what to install, and you can replace the library entirely. Recording happens in real time, so the length of the sound is how long you need to keep recording. Voice message flows change from time to time; if a site updates its recorder, the extension may need updating.
