Skip YouTube sponsors, see AI audience ratings from the comments, and track your watch time — private, no API key needed. Skipper enhances YouTube video watching in three ways: it skips supported promotional segments, shows an AI-generated audience rating for a video based on its comments, and provides a private summary of your own viewing time. All features operate on the YouTube watch experience. HOW IT WORKS Skipper sources sponsor segment timestamps from: • SponsorBlock — a free, community-maintained database covering millions of videos. Works without sign-in or setup. • Gemini AI (optional) — for videos not yet covered by the community database, signed-in users with YouTube's built-in "Ask about this video" feature can request AI-powered analysis. When playback reaches a detected segment, Skipper automatically jumps past it and displays a brief notification with an Undo option. Detected segments are also shown as markers on the video progress bar. For audience ratings, Skipper reads a video's public top comments and uses YouTube's built-in "Ask about this video" feature to summarize how viewers received the video, shown as a rating badge next to the like/dislike buttons. PRIVACY • No sign-in required for core skipping functionality. • SponsorBlock lookups use a privacy-preserving hashed video identifier. • Sponsor timestamps and audience ratings are shared through a public database keyed by a hashed video identifier — never the raw video ID, your comments, or any user identifier. • Usage statistics (viewing time, top channels) are computed and stored only on your device and are never transmitted. • No watch history or personally identifying information is collected or uploaded.
