Type Indian words in English letters, auto-converted to native script (Hindi, Bengali, Tamil, Telugu) online & offline. Type the way you already say it. You know the word. You just don't want to hunt for it on a keyboard you never learned. Indic Typer lets you type in ordinary Roman letters — "namaskar", "vanakkam", "kem cho" — and turns each word into your own script the moment you press space. It works inside any text box on the web. Email, chats, comment boxes, search bars, forms, docs, notes, post composers. Switch any time. ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ SMART MODE — ACCURATE ONLINE, STILL WORKING OFFLINE With Smart mode on, the word you finish typing is checked against Google's transliteration service for the closest match. It makes a real difference on long words, names and place names. When you're offline, on a bad connection, or the service is slow to answer, Indic Typer falls back to its own built-in engine automatically — mid-sentence, without you noticing. You never stop typing. Prefer to stay fully offline? Turn Smart mode off. The built-in engine handles everything on its own, entirely on your machine. ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ IT LEARNS YOUR WORDS Your name, your city, the spellings you prefer — Indic Typer remembers them locally, so the second time is always right. The popup shows how many words it has learned, and you can export the whole list whenever you like. ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ HOW TO TYPE Type a word in Roman letters, then press space or any punctuation. The word converts. Double a vowel to make it long: aa → आ ii or ee → ई uu or oo → ऊ So "aai" gives आई, "meera" gives मीरा, "guru" gives गुरु. Everything else works the way you'd expect from writing your language in English — no rules to memorise, no special symbols. ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ WHAT IT DOES NOT DO No account. No sign-in. No analytics, no tracking, no advertising IDs. Your learned words stay in your browser and are never uploaded anywhere. When Smart mode is on, the single word currently being typed is sent to Google's transliteration service to look up the best match — nothing else. Not the rest of the sentence, not the page, not the site you're on. Turn Smart mode off and no network request is made at all.
